Automerge: using local-first technologies within an authoritative server model

How can we leverage tools like CRDTs to provide great local-first UX, within a broader app that has an authoritative server? We'll look at pairing Automerge and Convex to build an offline-enabled collaborative text editing experience, including authentication and authorization.

About the Speaker

Ian is a senior engineer at Convex working on libraries, best practices, and demos for DX including developing AI Town in collaboration with a16z. He has previously created backend infrastructure for file previews at Dropbox, an ML workflow system for journalists at The New York Times, and other projects across iOS, web, and hardware platforms. Ian grew up in Colorado and studied Computer Science at Stanford.
